April 27, 2014 — “Bach to the Future” featuring Stephanie Sant Ambrogio on violin and Christina Scott Edelsen on harpsichord started a bit nervously on the violin. The solo harpsichord was nicely played. With beautiful hands throughout, Ms. Edelsen flashed through, keeping most notes ringing in nicely separated fashion. I was having fun listening to the Hovaness piece, Opus 122, Prelude, Haiku, Aria and enjoyed the explanation and playing twice. Both performers just plain kicked butt on the Bach.

What a wonderful organization is Early Music Southwest. What an amazing venue is Rienzi, but what’s up with that 12 tone equal temperment? What a perfect venue, audience, performance.
